I haven’t even made a full post on my own FB yet, but I had to let DSS know that Rumpelstiltskin passed away this morning, at the ripe age of 14yrs. 🥺 I adopted Rumps in 2015, after his owner passed away. He ate his owners body to survive, as they were deceased for two weeks before anyone did a welfare check. His story went a little viral when I shared it here several years ago. He was very loved by a LOT of people, and touched a lot of hearts with his interesting story. He was 3lbs but his heart and determination were colossal. I cannot believe I will never hold him again, see his little tail wag a mile a minute again, or watch his tiny stick legs carry him across the yard again. He was truly a unique, special soul that I will always hold dear in my heart. He was so gentle, loving, at times defiant and stubborn, and he sure could rile up an attitude when the other dogs would try to pick on him. I am so lucky that we chose each other, and that I was able to cherish him for 7yrs. Hold your pups tight, as you never know what can happen. Rumps passed away suddenly this morning from a suspected heart attack. He let out a yelp, and then became still. Just yesterday I was holding him, watching him patrol the yard, feeding him dinner (his favorite time of the day), and simply enjoying his presence. Today he is gone, although he will live on for a lifetime through all the people that loved him near and far. ❤️ | Welovethedogtrust.com

I plan on getting my boy a DNA test soon. People ask us all the time what breed he is and we started telling them he is an Appalachian Short Round just because I got tired of telling them I don't know (I told them I was joking)
I will eventually update when I find out his results!
